As a full-stack parking operator, we automate the operation of parking lots and parking garages. We handle everything from advertising to collecting payments from drivers and enforcing against illegal parking. We already operate 300+ parking lots and parking garages across 38 US states and we are growing quickly.

THE ROLE 👨‍💻

We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to contribute to high-impact projects across our platform. You’ll contribute to our React Native apps for drivers and parking enforcement, shipping new features, bringing best practices, and ensuring a frictionless release pipeline across iOS and Android. Your work will directly shape our customer experience and the technical foundations of our mobile platform.

This is a high-leverage role with impact across the business and plenty of room to grow.

Our stack:

  • Mobile Apps: TypeScript, React Native + Expo

  • Web Apps: React, Svelte, SvelteKit

  • Backend: Python, Django

WHAT YOU WILL DO 🚀

  • Lead end‑to‑end development of mobile features from product spec to App Store and Play Store release.

  • Architect reusable components, navigation patterns, and design‑system primitives that scale.

  • Integrate seamlessly with REST and GraphQL endpoints; influence API design with backend engineers.

  • Own the release pipeline: automated tests, OTA rollouts, crash monitoring, and analytics.

  • Profile and optimize performance, bundle size, startup time, and battery use.

  • Ensure accessibility, internationalization, and offline‑first best practices.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor teammates, and raise the engineering quality bar.

  • Work daily with product, design, operations, and founders to ship high‑impact features quickly.

  • Drive continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and developer experience.

WHAT YOU NEED 🧠

  • 4 + years of professional mobile development, preferably with React Native and Expo as a plus

  • Proven track record shipping multiple apps via Expo or bare React Native to both app stores.

  • Deep TypeScript expertise and mastery of React hooks, state management solutions, navigation, animations, and performance tuning.

  • Ability to extend React Native with native modules in Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, or Java when needed.

  • Strong grasp of mobile CI/CD, automated testing, EAS Build, and OTA update strategies.

  • Comfort working with backend APIs, authentication flows, real‑time data, and push notifications.

  • Clear communicator who translates product ideas into technical execution and pragmatic trade‑offs.

  • Self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, ownership‑driven startup environment.

Our Story

AirGarage was founded in 2017 when Chelsea, Scott, and Jonathon stumbled upon the inefficiencies in the parking industry while searching for cheaper university parking.

When our first partners told us of their problems, we learned just how outdated the entire industry was. They were dealing with gate arms and ticket machines that broke, parking attendants who would skim off the cash earning, and little to no data insights being collected at all.

We knew we could build a system how it should be today-- one that is completely online and automated.

Our Vision

We envision a future in which parking lots in our cities can be seen for the valuable real estate they are and be utilized for their highest and best use.

AirGarage is building an API for interfacing with the legacy real estate infrastructure in cities.

This could range from supporting future distribution and charging logistics for Autonomous Vehicles to empowering small pop-up shop entrepreneurs to providing on-demand warehouse space to enable faster delivery of essentials to consumers.
