About AirGarage
AirGarage is on a mission to rethink the 30% of downtown city real estate dedicated to parking.
Built for the future
The parking industry has been the same for the last 50 years. We’re tackling it how it should be in the 21st century.
Best-in class economics
We’ve eliminated traditional markup and overhead expenses for our real estate partners through automation.
All-in-one solution
AirGarage is the simple full-stack solution for parking lot owners. We advertise, enforce, and more.
Our Story
AirGarage was founded in 2017 when Chelsea, Scott, and Jonathon stumbled upon the inefficiencies in the parking industry while searching for cheaper university parking.
When our first partners told us of their problems, we learned just how outdated the entire industry was. They were dealing with gate arms and ticket machines that broke, parking attendants who would skim off the cash earning, and little to no data insights being collected at all.
We knew we could build a system how it should be today-- one that is completely online and automated.
Our Vision
We envision a future in which parking lots in our cities can be seen for the valuable real estate they are and be utilized for their highest and best use.
AirGarage is building an API for interfacing with the legacy real estate infrastructure in cities.
This could range from supporting future distribution and charging logistics for Autonomous Vehicles to empowering small pop-up shop entrepreneurs to providing on-demand warehouse space to enable faster delivery of essentials to consumers.
Doing so will foster innovation and entrepreneurship in our cities, developing them into more vibrant and dynamic places for all people. If that mission excites you, join us.
Our Values
Pace of Learning
We strive to ensure that each week the questions we ask and the challenges we face are building upon our past experiences and we are always improving.
Humility
Each of our team members has a willingness to do what it takes to succeed. As a startup, that may mean hopping on an early flight to meet a customer or installing signage in the heat and humidity.
Open and direct communication
Hearing the input of all team members equally regardless of their background is important to us as is leveling with each other about what is working and what is not.
Shake hands
Our business, product, and customers all live in the physical world. We don’t want to hide behind our desks in cushy offices, we prefer to get out and meet our business and customers in the real world.
Remote Weeks
Every 3 - 6 months, our entire team comes together in person in a cool location.
As a remote-first company, it is important for us to meet our teammates face to face and build shared understandings of the world. We visit and explore destinations such as Park City, Atlanta, and Austin together as a team and host activities such as Lightning Talks for team members to share topics they are passionate about outside of work with the team.
We are hiring!
AirGarage is based in San Francisco and hires globally. We believe the best talent transcends borders and timezones.
For U.S. based employees, the highest concentration of our team members live in NYC, LA, and SF (where our HQ office is).
Interview Process
Apply
We'll start by reviewing your resume. We love unique backgrounds so don't count yourself out if your experience doesn't perfectly match the job description - use the application to highlight why you're the right person for the job!
Include anything that you think showcases your skills - LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, websites, etc.
Chat With Us
We'll work with you to schedule a meeting - over coffee if you're in SF or a phone call if you're remote.
This is your chance to tell us what you're passionate about, your accomplishments, and what kind of challenges you're looking for.
Depending on the role, there may be more than one chat scheduled.
Tip: feel free to dress casually for the interview - we do in the office!
Show Us Your Skills
We've designed role-specific, realistic challenges to better understand how you work, and for you to sample what the job looks like.
Depending on the position you're applying for these can be sales related, drafting emails, writing code, design samples, etc.
Meet The Team
Sit down (or Zoom meet) with several members of the team you'd be working with for a 30-60 minute collaborative discussion.
Often, these meetings will start off with a 10 minute presentation about an assigned topic relevant to your job, the rest of the time is a two way conversation about how you work and what your goals are. Bring lots of questions - you're interviewing us as well!
References & Offer
We like to hear from people who've worked with you in your current role, or past positions - ideally a previous supervisor.
Once we're confident that we have a fit, we move fast to send out an official offer letter!
Onboarding
During your first week, your managers will fly out to you and you'll spend the first days meeting the entire team and learning about AirGarage.
