Job Description

Join Achieve as a Community Content & Engagement Intern and play a meaningful role in shaping how we build, launch, and grow our new online customer community. This internship is a unique opportunity to help design the foundation of a vibrant digital space that fosters trust, connection, and long-term engagement among our members.

In this hands-on role, you’ll support the research, planning, and execution of content and engagement strategies that align with customer needs and business goals. From building editorial calendars and engagement roadmaps to refining moderation policies and onboarding flows, you’ll gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration and contribute to a launch-ready community experience. By the end of your internship, you’ll have delivered a strategic, customer-centric plan that will guide how Achieve introduces, manages, and grows its online community.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Research & Needs Assessment: Research best practices, competitor communities, and industry trends to inform a foundational engagement approach. Analyze customer needs, community behaviors, and successful examples to identify high-impact content formats and tactics. Identify key opportunities to deliver value, foster peer-to-peer interaction, and spark meaningful conversations. Use these insights to define the purpose, tone, and strategic pillars of the community experience.

  • Content & Engagement Planning: Develop a scalable strategy to build a thriving, loyal community that fosters continuous growth, belonging, and meaningful customer connections. Create a roadmap outlining engagement strategies, onboarding experiences, and discussion themes tailored to member interests. Document event-based engagement strategies and propose tactics to encourage user-generated content, peer-led discussions, and consistent interaction.

  • Content Curation & Resource Development: Audit existing content assets and build a centralized content library to support engagement and member education. Identify opportunities for new content based on customer feedback. Develop community-facing resources—including FAQs, tutorials, and blog content—that reflect brand voice and customer priorities. Create a 60-day editorial calendar and generate compelling content.. Contribute to tone guidelines, response templates, and messaging documentation.

  • Community Guidelines & Management: Evaluate and refine community guidelines and moderation policies to ensure they support a safe, inclusive, and productive environment. Develop a scalable moderation and response strategy, including content review workflows, SLAs, and escalation processes. Recommend an appropriate moderation model and define roles and responsibilities for ensuring consistent, high-quality interactions.

  • KPI & Success Metrics: Define key performance indicators such as engagement rates, member growth, and content effectiveness to measure community health and guide strategy. Develop a tracking framework to monitor trends, assess impact, and identify opportunities for optimization. Establish a customer feedback loop and analyze qualitative and quantitative insights to inform continuous improvement and growth.

  • Launch & Onboarding Strategy: Develop a go-to-market execution plan to introduce the community to current customers, driving awareness, app downloads, profile creation, and early adoption. Define messaging, timing, and channel strategy to support a successful rollout. Outline a scalable onboarding experience for new customers that highlights the value of the community, encourages participation, and integrates community engagement into the broader customer journey.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, brand, customer experience, and compliance teams to align community initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with online community platforms, including moderation tools, privacy settings, and analytics features. Experience managing or optimizing online communities, with familiarity in forums, engagement strategies, and community management tools.

  • Strong writing and content planning skills, with an ability to create clear, engaging, and on-brand content across formats (e.g., posts, tutorials, FAQs, social copy).

  • Familiarity with content strategy or editorial workflows, including experience developing content calendars, identifying audience needs, or tailoring messaging for digital platforms.
