ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to spearhead efforts at our Costa Rica center. This role revolves around ensuring the architecture and optimization of cloud infrastructure, as well as enforcing security and reliability standards using industry-best practices. Additionally, as the Lead SRE, you will foster collaboration, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall reliability, security, and efficiency of our SaaS company's cloud systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and deliver robust, scalable SaaS solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure and incorporating selected Amazon AWS services.
  • Execute the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless delivery processes within the Accela SaaS infrastructure.
  • Apply profound knowledge of industry standard IaC and source control tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Git) to create scalable and maintainable infrastructure.
  • Lead Platform areas for functional, automation, infrastructure, initiatives that impact cross-functional organization.
  • Support security reviews, audits, and vulnerability assessments, delivering a secure SaaS environment.
  • Design and manage resilient and secure network architectures in the public cloud, providing strong expertise in Content Delivery Networks (CDN), particularly CloudFlare, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), VPNs, API gateways, monitoring, and logging.
  • Work with Product Owners, Developers, and Engineering Leads to analyze complex distributed systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing reliability, scalability, security, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a mentor, providing senior-level knowledge and expertise to team members.
  • Work creatively and efficiently in troubleshooting and resolution of system issues.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the technical capabilities of the team.
  • Identify gaps, issues, and proactively define, plan, and strategize activities, processes, and workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any related discipline.
  • 7+ years of strategic experience in Site Reliability Engineering, overseeing optimization and management of cloud infrastructure for enhanced reliability and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) frameworks, implementing strategies to promote availability and performance best practices in a SaaS infrastructure based on Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing industry-standard Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong commitment to security, with a track record of enforcing OWASP guidelines and ensuring a compliant SaaS environment.
  • Deep working experience with the design and management of resilient and secure network architectures.
  • Strong expertise in Content Delivery Networks (CDN), particularly CloudFlare, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), VPNs, API gateways, monitoring, and logging.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of industry-best practices for incident response to ensure rapid issue resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with clear communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation and tooling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Datadog for effective monitoring.
  • Expertise in diverse tech stacks, adapting to evolving technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Atlassian collaboration software (JIRA, Confluence, etc.), Slack.
  • Technical project management skills.
  • Amazon AWS.
