The Opportunity:

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for calculating and recording revenue in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Specifically, this position will 1) record revenue for fixed fee and variable fee contracts, 2) reconcile projects to ensure revenue is appropriately recorded, and 3) maintain projects to ensure all projects have correct revenue recognition attributes, and 4) assist with the development and implementation of revenue recognition accounting policies and procedures.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform and/or review calculations of revenue monthly.
  • Perform calculations of revenue monthly.
  • Perform project-level and client-level reconciliations of information between the contracts, billings, and revenue.
  • Revenue analytics supporting revenue assurance function. 5. Liaising with project managers and other business leaders as needed.
  • Performance of revenue controls.
  • Assist with requests for annual audit as it relates to revenue.
  • Assist revenue manager with the monitoring and analysis of the company’s accounting processes for revenue and work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Senior revenue accountant with the development, implementation and maintenance of revenue accounting policies and procedures with an emphasis on internal controls and efficiency.
  • Support budget and forecasting activities.
  • Research accounting issues as it pertains to generally accepted accounting principles for revenue.
  • Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives.

To Qualify for the role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting.
  • Three (3) or more combined years of relevant public accounting and/or private company experience, in a General Ledger or Revenue Accounting function.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • CPA
  • Two (2) years of revenue-specific experience, preferably in a consulting environment or other environment where project accounting is performed.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, with an emphasis on ASC606.
