Assistant Treasurer - Senior Principal Consultant

The Opportunity:

The individual will play a critical and highly visible role in ACA’s Fund Officer group. This individual may attend board and due diligence meetings; as well as interact with board audit committees, audit partners, and senior personnel at other service providers. The role will participate in the review of documents and/or work-papers prepared by third-party mutual fund/ETP service providers. This individual may maintain primary responsibility for multiple client relationships as well as provide support to one or more Principal Financial Officers/Treasurers.

What you’ll do:

  • Review SEC and IRS filings
  • Observe board and related committee meetings
  • Participate in in-person due diligence visits
  • Participate in quarterly disclosure controls & procedures calls
  • Perform detailed and high-level reviews of mutual fund/ETP shareholder reports, SEC filings, Form N-1A updates, budgets, dividend distributions, tax returns or filings, and expense invoices
  • Effectively communicate review notes and monitor their resolution by third parties
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members
  • Communicate with internal personnel and clients on various matters
  • Conducts self in a professional manner
  • Responsible for reporting to senior management, including any potential or perceived violations of applicable laws, rules, or Company policies
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, business administration, finance, or accounting preferred
  • 10-15 years work experience in 1940 Act fund administration, shareholder reporting or auditing
  • CPA is desirable; but not required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing
  • Independent worker
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail
