I am a recent Biology graduate and pre-veterinary candidate on a gap year, combining hands-on clinical experience with field research. I bring nearly two years as a veterinary assistant plus over three years in customer-facing food service roles, which have honed my adaptability and work ethic.
In clinical settings I assisted with exams, surgeries, vaccinations, daily boarding care, medication administration (including insulin), and clinic operations such as cleaning, sterilization, and opening/closing duties. I communicated with clients, managed records, and supported technicians and veterinarians in fast-paced environments.
As a research technician I contributed to avian fieldwork in Ecuador, collected acoustic data, analyzed bird song recordings with Raven Pro, performed statistical analyses in R, and helped prepare a manuscript published in Ornithology. My publication demonstrates my ability to carry research from data collection to dissemination.
I am multilingual (Mandarin, Cantonese, English), comfortable with Microsoft Office, R, and Raven Pro, and eager to continue gaining veterinary and research experience that supports my path to veterinary school. I am committed, quick to learn, and thrive in collaborative, hands-on roles.
