Yamal Patel
@yamalpatel
Motivated SFU computer science student combining analytical thinking, clear communication, and customer care for part-time roles.
What I'm looking for
I’m a motivated SFU Computer Science student with a strong academic foundation and a natural ability to connect with people. I combine analytical thinking with clear communication, and I thrive in fast-paced environments that value both technical skills and customer care.
As a Peer Tutor for Math & Science (Grades 11–12) in the SFU Student Learning Commons, I help students master algebra, pre-calculus, biology, and chemistry. I break down difficult concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations tailored to each student’s learning pace.
I also build exam confidence by reviewing past tests, practising problem sets, and identifying knowledge gaps. I’m patient, encouraging, and easy to approach—students regularly return for follow-up sessions.
During SFU Orientation Week, I guided 50+ incoming students through campus tours and registration processes. I answered questions about academic programs, resources, and student services, and coordinated with faculty staff to keep events running smoothly.
