Wandera John
@wanderajohn
I build backend systems, automate operations, and support production infrastructure, from writing the code to keeping it running.
KenyaWhat I'm looking for
I'm a backend developer and IT consultant based in Nairobi, working across full-stack web development and production infrastructure support. I currently manage SQL Server databases, network infrastructure, and regulatory compliance systems for a multi-site petrol station network, where I also build Python automation tools that catch and recover from failures before they become real problems. On the development side, I work primarily in Node.js and Next.js, with a focus on clean API design, authentication, and systems that hold up under real-world conditions, not just in testing. I'm CCNA 1–4 certified, and I care more about understanding why something broke than just getting it working again
