Viraj Gundewar

I'm a Software Engineering graduate from MIT ADT University, Pune, with a strong foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and backend software development. My technical toolkit centers on Java, Python, SQL, and Spring Boot, with practical experience designing RESTful APIs, working with distributed messaging systems like Kafka, and building data pipelines on Apache Spark and Google Cloud Platform.

Across my projects, I've built end-to-end systems rather than isolated exercises: MedGuard, a medical inventory management backend using Spring Boot and PostgreSQL; Curo, an event-driven analytics platform processing high-volume API streams via Kafka and Google Pub/Sub; and HoneyWeb, a telemetry monitoring pipeline built on Spark, GCP, and BigQuery. This range reflects a genuine interest that spans backend engineering, real-time systems, and cloud-scale data processing.

I've complemented this with two software engineering internships — at Digital Defence Foundation and Spacenos Technologies — where I worked on automation scripting, infrastructure and security reviews, and Agile delivery workflows. I hold an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification and a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) credential, reflecting a parallel interest in cybersecurity and secure coding practices alongside core development work. In 2024, I led a team to a 1st-place finish at Smart India Hackathon, a national-level competition.

Based in Pune, I'm looking to bring this mix of backend, cloud, and security-conscious engineering to a team building real, scalable products — with a strong appetite for continuous learning and hands-on problem-solving.
