Videmir Ivanov

My name is Videmir Ivanov, and I am GIS Engineer with over 15 years of experience in Geoinformatics, Cartography and Geodesy.. I am a Bulgarian citizen (European Union) and live in the city of Stara Zagora.

I’ve worked in projects both around Bulgaria and worldwide, coordinating with local partners, so I understand the importance of collaboration. In addition, I have a very focused mindset, and as soon as I have a clear direction and know what resources I have available, I get to work to achieve the goal at hand.

I have work experience with data modeling for different GIS projects. I found that I feel happy when working with GIS. It gives me the opportunity to be part of a team working on innovative projects. In the recent years I succeed in practicing my GIS skills in various business areas like hydroenegetic, energy and natural gas, marketing, construction and fi bre optic. At GfK I was analyzing and interpret large datasets of geospatial information gathered from a big variety of sources. My job at GfK (Germany's largest market research institute) involves capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying information with different GIS software (QGIS, ESRI, Mapinfo). I was also responsible for data management and quality control with the GIS tools. In Citygas Bulgaria I was Project manager for their GIS project (created from scratch). My job was to manage the project for creating a GIS (working with CAD and GIS) for the whole gas pipeline network in Bulgaria in collaboration with ESRI Italy. In Geocad-93 I was in the team for a GIS project for the Bulgarian national railway company. For the establishment of a comprehensive GIS, NRIC began a project called Design and Implementation of Geographic Information System, where I was responsible for the communication between Geocad-93, ESRI Bulgaria and Kontrax.

At Lit Fibre I am designing, developing, and implement construction and geospatial information using programming languages and GIS software. My job at Lit Fibre involves planning and design fibre networks across UK towns, collaborating with various departments during the building process. At Sweco my job was in geodetic engineering, design, and construction supervision in projects in the hydroenergetic, energy and building sector. I also gained experience with different CAD and GIS software for various projects.
