What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a SOC role where I can do real security monitoring, alert triage, and incident response. I’m ready for 24/7 rotational shifts, value clear escalation processes, and want continuous learning to sharpen threat detection.

I’m a cybersecurity graduate with a completed National Diploma in Information Technology (Cybersecurity), focused on Security Monitoring, Threat Analysis, and Incident Response. Through formal coursework and a home-lab, I build practical detection and response habits that hold up under real-time pressure.

In my self-initiated SOC & Security Monitoring project, I remote-deployed a virtualized security monitoring environment across Windows Server 2019 and Ubuntu Linux VMs. I monitor simulated network traffic to detect anomalies and suspicious behavior, triage alerts using SIEM-aligned concepts, and produce structured incident reports that document root causes and indicators of compromise (IOCs).

I also strengthen my attacker mindset through ethical hacking exercises—reconnaissance, exploitation attempts, and post-exploitation analysis—so my detection approach reflects real techniques. To improve efficiency, I automate log collection and basic threat-hunting tasks using Python scripts, cutting manual analysis time by about 30% while keeping findings organized for escalation workflows.

As an IT Support volunteer, I monitor and respond to security-related issues across 30+ community user systems, investigating unauthorised access attempts, malware infections, and suspicious software behavior. I handle containment-oriented documentation, ensure security tools are correctly configured, and resolve 85% of issues remotely using TeamViewer and AnyDesk—while staying ready for high-urgency, 24/7 rotational shift work.
