Timilehin Daniel
@timilehindaniel
First-class physicist focused on computational research, DFT modeling, and Python-driven data analysis.
What I'm looking for
I’m a highly motivated physicist with a first-class B.Sc. degree (CGPA: 3.65/4.0) and strong problem-solving skills. I’m research-driven, results-oriented, and goal-driven, with hands-on experience using computational tools to investigate real scientific mechanisms.
In my undergraduate research at the University of Ibadan, I used Density Functional Theory (DFT) in Quantum ESPRESSO to study desulfurization mechanisms in gasoline. I modeled adsorption of thiophene on catalytic surfaces, performed structural optimization, calculated adsorption energies, and analyzed catalytic reactivity trends to understand electronic behavior.
I also gained experience evaluating thermal efficiency, emission characteristics, and material stability of cookstoves under different operating conditions. Through comparative performance testing, I worked toward quantifying improvements in efficiency and emissions.
Alongside research, I tutor at the undergraduate level and provide one-on-one mentoring to help students master complex concepts and prepare for departmental examinations. I’m now building toward graduate-level research impact and deeper computational/data capabilities, supported by my workshop and conference participation.
