Svetlana Barocio Velasco

I’m an Environmental Specialist and environmental economist with experience supporting corporate sustainability initiatives and sustainability implementation in SMEs. I’m results-oriented and motivated by applying sustainability processes firsthand in an industry setting.

At Coparmex (Mexico), I developed sustainability courses and workshops that helped more than 600 companies implement more sustainable practices. I also assisted in the implementation of the European Union “AL-Invest Verde” program, impacting over 4,000 SMEs with sustainability-related support.

I evaluated international projects to assess eligibility for grants up to 300,000 euros and provided technical support to applicants, including resolution of FAQs and guidance through the call for proposals. I also helped establish a sustainability committee with members from more than 15 companies.

I collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary, international teams—often remotely—bringing adaptability and problem-solving to day-to-day work. I’m a rapid learner who stays organized while using tools like Google Suite and Asana to coordinate across stakeholders.
