What I'm looking for

I seek leadership roles that advance translational medical-device research, support multidisciplinary teams, foster innovation for low-resource settings, and enable industry partnerships and scalable impact.

I am a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and research leader with extensive academic and institutional leadership experience at the University of Cape Town and national research programmes. I lead teams focused on medical device design, verification, validation and translation for low-resource settings, and I hold the SARChI Chair in Biomedical Engineering & Innovation.

My career spans applied research, device development and multidisciplinary collaboration, evidenced by numerous peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations and edited works including a 2022 book on Medical Devices Innovation for Africa. I have received multiple national and international awards and recognition for innovation and emerging research impact.

I am committed to mentoring researchers, building cross-cutting technology platforms (including pandemic preparedness efforts), and advancing scalable, affordable health technologies through academic leadership, industry partnerships and translational research.
