I’m a Children’s Direct Support Professional focused on helping children with developmental disabilities build independence through everyday routines. I work from each child’s daily schedule to provide hands-on support with living skills, daily activities, and a steady, supportive presence.
In my current role, I assist with meal preparation, encourage and help with daily household chores, and support budgeting as part of real-life learning. I also administer and pack medications at proper times, and I document each day clearly, including behavior changes, medication handling/disposal, appointments, and time tracking.
Before this, I strengthened my leadership and customer-facing skills in retail by serving as a Grocery Closing Supervisor. I oversaw the grocery department when managers were away, ensured the stockroom was properly prepared, maintained cleanliness and organization, and trained and mentored associates on procedures and standards.
I’ve also brought a service mindset from food service, working as a Hostess/Busser where I greeted guests, took orders and payments, delivered orders, and supported smooth table service.
