I'm a data analyst based in Nairobi who turns messy, real-world data into clear answers people can act on.

My background is in statistics (BSc, University of Nairobi), and I work primarily with SQL, Python, and Power BI. Over the past year I've built a portfolio of four end-to-end analytics projects across two domains:

Finance — I analyzed a savings-and-credit cooperative's loan portfolio in SQL, built a loan-default prediction model in Python, and presented it all in an executive Power BI dashboard.

Retail — I cleaned and analyzed a million-row transaction dataset, uncovering seasonality patterns and a returns finding most analyses miss: over half the apparent "returns" were accounting adjustments, not products coming back. The corrected return rate was roughly half the naive figure.

What I care about most is getting the answer right — checking figures across tools, questioning the obvious number, and being honest about what the data can and can't support. The full work, code and write-ups included, is on my GitHub: github.com/MWACHI-SIMON

I've also spent several years teaching these tools via corporate training seminars/workshops, and consulting for clients, so I'm comfortable explaining data clearly to non-technical people.
