Shona Niekerk

As a Personal Trainer, I create customized workout plans tailored to individual needs, provide nutritional guidance, and assist clients with accountability and motivation. I have extensive knowledge of gym facilities and a strong ability to understand clients' wants and needs.

I teach swimming to children aged 6-12, focusing on both basic skills and advanced training. I evaluate student performance and provide feedback to encourage comfort and confidence in the water.

In this role, I create schedules for lifeguards, conduct daily safety walkthroughs, and respond to emergencies. I also develop training plans to ensure lifeguards are well-prepared for any situation.

In my role as Lifeguard Team Leader, I ensure the safety of individuals at pools and beaches, conduct in-service lessons, and manage lifeguard schedules. I am responsible for maintaining safety standards and responding to first aid incidents.

As a Lifeguard Supervisor, I plan and direct aquatic programs, hire and train aquatic instructors, and ensure compliance with safety policies. I also conduct lifeguard training courses and manage daily operations of the aquatic complex.

As a Lifeguard, I interact with guests, enforce safety rules, and administer first aid when necessary. My role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety of the facilities while ensuring a positive guest experience.

Completed Level 2 & 3 Personal Trainer certification.

Activities and societies: Participated in Varsity hockey and USSA tournaments.

Completed 2nd year in Sports Management. Represented the university at the Varsity hockey and USSA tournaments at first team level.

Activities and societies: Represented the school in hockey teams.

Matriculated with an admission to bachelor’s degree. Represented my school in provincial and national selection for hockey teams.
