Sebastian Lavoie

As a second-year Political Science student at the University of Victoria, I have developed a strong foundation in understanding diverse perspectives and cultures. My 18 months of international travel across South East Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East have enriched my ability to communicate effectively with people from various backgrounds. I pride myself on being a well-spoken, independent problem solver, eager to learn and contribute to organizational goals.

My work experience includes serving at Sushi Ryu, a Japanese restaurant in Nanaimo, where I managed online and phone orders while ensuring a high-quality dining experience for guests. Additionally, my summer position as a caddy at Yokohama Country Club in Japan allowed me to enhance my conversational Japanese skills and navigate cultural expectations in a professional setting. These experiences have honed my customer service skills and my ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
