Sanuthi Thiyanima

I’m a final-year Data Science undergraduate with hands-on enterprise experience in insurance analytics and data engineering. I’m currently working as an Associate Data Analyst at Ceylinco Life Insurance, where I design executive dashboards and help modernize analytics workflows.

In my role, I automate ETL pipelines and support cloud data platform evaluations through Proof-of-Concept (POC) validation for Snowflake and Microsoft Fabric. I also replicate vendor-executed POC workflows internally to validate performance, transformation logic, scalability, and data integration capabilities.

Previously, I built and maintained 7 enterprise-level Tableau dashboards used by senior management across HR, Claims, Operations, and Sales. I’ve delivered ad-hoc SQL-based analytics for operational decision-making and KPI tracking, and automated recurring reporting workflows using Tableau Prep and SQL.

My strongest technical focus is end-to-end, decision-ready modeling: I led AI-driven research on risk-based motor insurance automation, developing machine learning models for accident risk prediction and premium optimization. I’ve also implemented explainability and confidence approaches (SHAP, split-conformal confidence intervals) and built supporting solutions like loan prediction and a song recommendation model.
