Ryan Chabot
@ryanchabot
Environmental scientist and sustainability leader specializing in data-driven conservation.
What I'm looking for
I am an environmental scientist and sustainability professional with experience directing campus and regional sustainability initiatives and managing conservation programs. I blend field biology, program management, and quantitative analysis to drive measurable environmental outcomes.
At the University of Central Florida I led sustainability strategy, improved institutional AASHE STARS performance, redesigned digital tracking systems, and launched waste diversion pilots including composting partnerships and textiles recycling. I coordinated cross-disciplinary teams and communicated technical results to leadership and public stakeholders.
Previously I managed Volusia County's Habitat Conservation Plan and ensured compliance with USFWS permit conditions, oversaw reporting and budgeting, and supervised contracts and staff. As a research biologist I led statistical analyses, curated large sea turtle datasets, and developed outreach materials and education programming.
I hold an M.S. in Biology with thesis research on Florida green turtles, and I am skilled in advanced statistical modeling and reproducible data pipelines in R, GIS, and project development. I seek roles where I can apply science-driven decision making to scale sustainability and conservation impact.
