Roman Markevich
@romanmarkevich
Senior backend engineer specializing in event-driven .NET distributed systems, observability, and production reliability for e-commerce.
What I'm looking for
I’m a senior backend engineer with 7+ years building production .NET services for e-commerce and distributed platforms. I focus on event-driven architecture, production reliability, observability, performance, and delivery automation.
I own changes end to end—from requirements and system design through CI/CD, release, and production support—partnering with product, QA, architecture, and platform teams. In one role, I cut incident MTTR from 90 to 30 minutes by leading an observability rollout across 12 critical services, including structured logs, distributed tracing, Grafana dashboards, and SLO-based alerts.
I also improve reliability and throughput by design: I reduced message-loss incidents from six to one per quarter and raised delivery SLO from 99.70% to 99.95% by implementing a MongoDB-to-Kafka Transactional Outbox. I’ve accelerated delivery by automating CI/CD (cutting deployment time from 8 hours to 20 minutes) and supported high-throughput Kubernetes migrations while aligning service boundaries through architecture reviews.
