Rita Santos

At the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, I analyse metagenomic and genomic data, submit sequences to NCBI, and evaluate microbial susceptibility to UV and disinfectants through the Vine & Wine Portugal project.

I've contributed to research on winery microbiota, UV-C microbial reduction, and natural antifungal agents from marine Streptomyces. My work includes microbiological characterization, culture preservation, susceptibility testing, MIC determination, cytotoxicity evaluation, scientific publications, and patent applications focused on controlling Gnomoniopsis smithogilvyi.
