I am a Senior Backend Engineer with around 5 years of experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems, primarily in the payments and compliance domain. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked extensively with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and event-driven architectures, and have developed systems that process millions of events per day with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and observability.

Currently, I work at Mastercard, where I’ve been responsible for designing and building critical backend platforms. One of my key contributions is a centralized data retention and compliance system that ensures customer data deletion across distributed microservices in accordance with regulatory requirements. I also built a high-throughput webhook processing platform handling over 3 million events daily, where I implemented retry strategies, failure isolation, and observability using tools like OpenTelemetry and Dynatrace. These systems are deployed in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.

Before this, I worked at Nimbbl, where I owned multiple backend microservices end-to-end for payment and checkout systems. I was deeply involved in merchant integrations with enterprise partners, managing API contracts, webhook workflows, and ensuring production readiness. I also developed an internal Command Center platform with RBAC, auditing, and event-sourced timelines, which improved operational efficiency significantly.

Earlier in my career, I worked on sports analytics platforms using Kotlin, Kafka, and Elasticsearch, and also gained experience in e-commerce systems with Magento.

From a technical standpoint, I enjoy working on distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and solving problems related to system reliability and scalability. I have hands-on experience with tools like RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS, and I’m particularly interested in building systems that are resilient and observable in production.

Beyond my professional work, I have a strong interest in data structures and algorithms and regularly practice problem-solving. I also enjoy exploring new technologies like Go and continuously improving my system design skills.
