philip solonka
@philipsolonka
I build ESG strategy and sustainable operations across Africa-focused energy, property, and retail.
What I'm looking for
I've spent nine years at Apple, helping run its busiest EMEA store while delivering $2M+ quarterly sales, 99.8% inventory accuracy, and a 20% reduction in fulfillment wait times.
I brought climate awareness to the retail floor by researching the store's carbon footprint with Emaar Malls, educating colleagues on waste segregation, and sharing COP28 learnings in daily operations. I also co-led Juneteenth and Black History Month programming and built a peer-recognition program that lifted individual NPS above 90%.
Today, I run Ubani Homes in Nairobi and conduct a live ESG materiality assessment across energy, water, waste, and community employment. My work is informed by earlier ventures in Maasai heritage tourism and STEM education, plus doctoral research development focused on decentralised renewable-energy policy in sub-Saharan Africa.
