Joshua Agbarakwe

I am an Accounting student at USIU-Africa in Nairobi with a career focus on finance, climate accountability, and building things from the ground up. I am the CEO of Advocate & Lead, where I design and facilitate youth advocacy and leadership programs for young people in learning institutions, covering advocacy, climate action, and technology as a tool for change. I built the curriculum, structured the modules and sessions, and handle the positioning and partnerships myself, so I have hands-on experience in product design, sales, and operations.

I serve as Finance Director for the Kenya Model United Nations (USIU-Africa chapter), managing the team's budgets and financial planning. I also served as Assistant Delegate Experience Officer at the 2026 Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch International Inter-Varsity ADR Moot Competition, which gave me event operations and stakeholder coordination experience.

On the climate and policy side, I served as an Official Expert Reviewer for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. I am currently serve as an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC AR7 Working Group I First Order Draft and the Second Order Draft of the IPCC Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories report on short-lived climate forcers. I am also an empanelled Technical Expert and Evaluator in the European Commission's Funding & Tenders database.I have completed over 20 UN-system and international certifications in 2026, including courses from UNICEF, UNDP, UNITAR, UN DESA, ITCILO, GIZ, and the WTO, covering sustainable finance, climate finance, impact measurement, project cycle management, and governance.I am looking for community, operations, or growth roles with early-stage and fast-growing Kenyan companies. I bring initiative, strong numeracy, public speaking and facilitation skills, and a global outlook from working in international policy spaces.
