Passant Abdelrahman

I’m an M.Sc. Physics student at the American University in Cairo (3.9/4.0 GPA) specializing in Integrated Photonics, Silicon Photonics, and AI-driven optical device optimization. I build and validate numerical models using FEM/FDM and Maxwell’s equations solvers, with hands-on experience simulating advanced waveguide structures and computing refractive indices. I also develop and apply inverse engineering approaches in photonics to improve device performance.

As a research assistant, I work across photonics simulation and computational physics, including quantum computing fundamentals with Qiskit for building and simulating basic quantum circuits (including Grover’s and Shor’s algorithms). I’m drawn to roles where I can directly translate simulation accuracy into engineering impact—so I’m seeking a Photonics Simulation role to contribute to next-generation high-speed optical interconnects and AI hardware acceleration. I bring strong programming and data/visualization skills to iterate quickly, compare against analytical solutions, and deliver results you can trust.
