Yasser Mahmoud
@yassermahmoud
Computer Vision Engineer and data-driven developer leveraging ML, IoT, and analytics to solve real-world problems.
What I'm looking for
I’m an Applied Computer Science graduate student with hands-on experience across software development, data analytics, and machine learning. I combine an Electrical Engineering foundation with research-focused, data-driven problem solving.
I’ve worked as a Computer Vision Engineer on live LPR camera systems, using computer vision techniques for real-time vehicle identification. I supported integration between edge devices and central monitoring systems, and deployed/validated solutions in production environments.
In research, I built automated data pipelines using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn) and delivered results into Power BI dashboards. I also conducted machine learning modeling and time-series forecasting for policy research and publication.
I’m motivated by applied AI and measurable impact, from CNN-based brain tumor detection using MQTT and NodeRed to IoT solutions like water leak detection with Arduino and Python. I bring leadership and collaboration through roles like University Ambassador, and I’m always aiming to improve systems through experimentation, iteration, and learning.
