What I'm looking for

I’m looking for full-time work in an educational setting where I can teach History and support students with strong instruction, engagement, and individualized help that builds confidence, comprehension, and critical thinking.

I’m a passionate, committed educator focused on helping students gain confidence and real understanding. My background is rooted in History, with hands-on teaching methods that use direct analysis of primary documents, roleplay, and debates that connect learning to students’ daily lives.

In my recent roles at UCTEAMS and Queen City Academy Charter School, I teach World and U.S. History while also supporting Math instruction for middle school students (Algebra 1-2, SAT-related teaching). I work in small groups to address misconceptions, reteach with multiple approaches, and motivate students to produce tangible results.

Beyond classroom teaching, I run Owen’s Tutoring Service and serve as a Senior Lead Tutor, supporting ACT/SAT prep and students across English, writing, math, science, and history. I also substitute across multiple districts, teaching English, Mathematics, History, Art, and STEM while adapting quickly to student needs.
