Nicolas Guerra
@nicolasguerra
Economist blending FP&A/strategy with data engineering — building financial models and the data architecture behind them.
What I'm looking for
I'm an economist from Ecuador working at the intersection of finance and data. I currently lead the Financial Comptrollership division at Banco Guayaquil, where I rebuilt the bank's customer profitability model end to end and led a benchmarking analysis that uncovered over $4MM in excess cost, resulting in $2MM in realized savings.
I also work as a Strategy Consultant for a major outsourcing firm, focused on financial planning and efficiency to grow their business units organically, without debt. Earlier, I was a Business Analyst and Product Owner at CHUBB, and before that worked in fraud-prevention and payments strategy at TOPAZ. Alongside this, I run a freelance consulting practice building financial models and data infrastructure for clients across industries.
Day to day, I work in SQL, Python, DuckDB, and Excel — building profitability models, data pipelines, and executive dashboards. I hold an economics degree from USFQ (Best Thesis Award) and certifications in Advanced Data Analytics (Google) and Quantitative Modeling (Wharton).
Right now, I'm focused on growing as a data and financial analyst. Long-term, I want to build my own strategic consulting practice at the intersection of finance and data analytics.
