What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can combine corpus linguistics with thematic analysis, extract and clean large textual datasets, and turn evidence into clear, reliable linguistic insights grounded in social and cultural context.

I’m a linguist with experience analyzing spoken and written texts at different linguistic levels. I apply corpus linguistics methods to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses that uncover language patterns and usage trends.

I’m skilled at interpreting linguistic data within its social and cultural context using thematic analysis. I’ve also built corpora by performing web scraping and extracting textual data from social media platforms such as X and Instagram.

In my doctoral research on offence and incivility in the Omani society, I designed a mixed-methods approach integrating quantitative corpus analysis and qualitative thematic analysis. I retrieve and compile large social media datasets, analyze them using Sketch Engine and NVivo, and use n-gram, collocation, and concordance analyses to inform sociopragmatic interpretations of social norms.
