Payroll and accounting professional open to administrator, specialist, or hybrid payroll/accounting roles. Particularly interested in positions involving process improvement, workflow automation, or stabilizing broken systems. Remote, based in Canada.

I fix broken payroll and accounting systems. That's the throughline across fifteen years working in construction, energy, aviation, and small business: organisations bring me in when their processes have stalled, errors have piled up, or nobody trusts the numbers anymore, and I rebuild things so they hold.

At Boom Construction, I inherited a payroll operation running on legacy spreadsheets and unreliable timesheets. I redesigned the intake process, cut manual entry errors by roughly 95%, and built an accounts receivable workflow that improved cash flow by about 60%. None of it involved reinventing the wheel; it meant tracing every discrepancy back to its source and closing the gap permanently.

I also run Scraps of Life Bookkeeping & Payroll Services, a remote practice I've operated since 2018. Clients hand me shoebox records, half-finished QuickBooks files, and payroll nobody wants to touch, and I turn them into clean, audit-ready books. That work happens entirely offsite, on my own schedule, with direct client accountability instead of office supervision, which is closer to how I actually work best.

My background spans Canadian multi-province payroll, US multi-state payroll, full-cycle accounting, and ERP systems including Explorer Eclipse, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics. I hold a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation and move comfortably between payroll, bookkeeping, and process improvement depending on what the role actually needs solved.
