Molly Leslie
@mollyleslie
Commercial Operations leader turning energy data into margin gains through analytics, dashboards, and stakeholder-driven execution.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Commercial Operations leader with a strong aptitude for data analysis and optimisation, built through an energy industry career focused on measurable outcomes. In my current role as Head of Commercial Operations, I’m leading a newly created team to build commercial data analysis capability across multiple markets and fuels.
I partner with IT to transform the data landscape for commercial analysis—building data warehouses, dashboards, and models to improve interpretation and accuracy. I develop analytical frameworks for complex, multi-variable commercial systems, quickly gaining domain knowledge of new markets and systems while strengthening quantitative problem-solving.
I’ve delivered meaningful commercial impact, including generating over £500k in margin, and identifying financial, process, and knowledge gaps across departments. I also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a major company-wide project, accountable for ensuring the outcome of the functionality for my area.
Previously, as Interim Head of Commercial Operations, I led a 6-person team using volumetric analysis to report, manage, evaluate, and optimise financial performance, resolving areas of gross margin leakage. Earlier, as a Commercial Finance Analyst, I built billing models to optimise spreads, advanced SQL through hands-on work, and strengthened cross-functional execution through clear documentation, SharePoint centralisation, and stakeholder-focused reporting.
