Michael de Araujo Palmieri
@michaeldearaujopalmi
English and Portuguese language educator blending teaching, materials design, and linguistics research.
What I'm looking for
I’m an English teacher and language educator with experience teaching in private language institutes, university extension settings, and public schools. I’ve also worked with Portuguese language teaching and academic research on my native language.
Throughout my roles, I’ve focused on making instruction more efficient and contemporary—designing and adapting lesson plans, developing teaching materials and assessments, and providing targeted academic support. I’ve taught fully in English across beginner to advanced levels and led discipline-specific academic English courses aligned with CEFR (A1–B2).
I bring practical assessment and delivery experience from working with international exams, including TOEFL test administration and international exam preparation. In multilevel adult classes, I managed multiple proficiency levels in shared spaces using differentiated exercises, structured interaction moments, and adaptive instruction for inclusive learning.
Currently, I work full-time (40h/week) as an Elementary School English teacher, supporting multiple grade levels and special education needs, including individualized instruction for students with multiple disabilities. Alongside teaching, I conduct research in vernacular languages (generative linguistics and sociolinguistics), investigating Portuguese writing strategies and the characteristics of the pronoun “você” in Brazilian Portuguese.
