Megan Murphy
@meganmurphy2
I provide injury care, rehabilitation, and emergency coverage for competitive athletes.
What I'm looking for
I'm the Head Athletic Trainer at Red Hook High School, providing daily practice and contest coverage, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, taping, bracing, and first aid for student athletes. I also communicate with families, coaches, and athletic leadership, manage training-room inventory, and serve as a clinical preceptor for Marist University's Athletic Training Education Program.
Previously, I supported Marist University football and women's water polo as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Head Football Athletic Trainer, coordinating physician appointments, insurance claims, student workers, and home and away coverage. I also taught Movement in Sport, an anatomy- and kinesiology-based course focused on functional movement assessments.
My experience spans professional, collegiate, high school, and camp settings, including the Cleveland Browns, Princeton University, New York Red Bulls, Drew University, Army West Point Athletics, and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. I've provided on-field evaluation, emergency care, rehabilitation support, inventory management, travel coverage, and COVID-19 screening across a wide range of sports.
I'm a NATA Board of Certification Certified and licensed athletic trainer in Ohio and New York. My research on CPR and AED use over lacrosse protective equipment was funded by USA Lacrosse, presented at the 2020 NATA virtual conference, and published in the Journal of Athletic Training.
