Megan Matheny
@meganmatheny
Historical intern and educator skilled in research, organization, and inclusive classroom practice.
What I'm looking for
I’m pursuing a B.A. in History and bring a strong academic foundation (3.98 GPA) alongside research-focused work. My thesis, “Silent Screams: Queer Black Women within Asylums During the 1920s-1950s,” reflects my commitment to careful historical inquiry and culturally responsive storytelling.
As a Historical Intern, I turn reports into clear, usable outputs by generating spreadsheets from findings and recommendations. I identify issues, analyze information, and provide solutions while helping create new exhibits with close attention to fine details, thorough research, and detailed notes on how items relate to one another.
I also bring classroom experience from teaching in a daycare setting, where I implemented behavior management strategies, supported a positive and engaging environment, and fostered curiosity through creative hands-on activities. I communicate effectively with parents and staff about learning and behavioral needs, document behavior respectfully, and maintain organized records by imputing information into a locked database.
