Maureen Wachira

I’m a Nurse Assistant with over 4 years of experience blending clinical care with procurement and supply support. I’m known for being a compassionate caregiver who takes pride in patient safety, disciplined documentation, and reliable coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

At Africa Healthcare Network (March 2024–Present), I support holistic patient care while handling hemodialysis-related responsibilities such as lining and priming HD machines (Gambro, Nipro and Nikkiso), preparing heparin (Regular and rigid), and supporting catheter insertion. I also maintain the RO system through scheduled documentation, micron filter and brine changes, and loop disinfection, while practicing proper disposal of clinical waste and infection/isolation precautions.

Previously, at Karatina Sub-county hospital (Medical ward, May 2023–Dec 2023), I helped keep the ward running smoothly by supporting cleanliness, beds-making, and assisting bed-ridden patients with feeding, bathing, grooming, turning, and linen change. I monitored vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and supported health tests such as RBS and FBS.

Before that, I strengthened my operational strengths through procurement work as a Procurement Intern at the County Government of Nairobi (July 2021–June 2022). I supported purchase orders, inventory and stock monitoring, vendor registration and vendor database maintenance, and records management, contributing to process improvement through document preparation, filing, and internal audit/procurement review support—always aiming to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
