Matthew Russell

I am a senior molecular technologist with extensive hands-on experience developing, validating, and launching laboratory-developed tests across multiple genetic testing methodologies. I have led assay development projects for LDTs, authored and revised SOPs to meet CAP and CLIA standards, and successfully prepared laboratories for inspections and proficiency testing.

I perform complex testing and data analysis using NGS, PCR/qPCR, CE, MALDI-TOF MS, and microarray platforms, and I interpret and classify germline variants according to ACMG guidelines. I also serve as the primary in-house Laboratory Information System administrator, managing integrations, user mappings, and feature development to support clinical operations.

I have supervised, scheduled, and trained technologists, managed instrument maintenance and calibration, and created educational materials for clinicians and patients to expand access to genetic testing. I seek roles where I can apply my technical leadership, quality systems knowledge, and hands-on laboratory skills to improve diagnostic services and patient care.
