Mary Ann Torres Vergara

I support humanitarian response, crisis intervention, and conflict transformation through facilitation, mediation, and process support in multicultural settings.

Through OGA – Opportunities for Grassroots, I've worked as a volunteer practitioner, facilitator, and researcher since 2019. I've also contributed refugee support, psychosocial first-response support, and volunteer coordination with organizations including the Austrian Red Cross, Redialogo, Seguros Constitución, and Uniseguros.

My work combines stakeholder coordination, community participation, emergency-response planning, capacity building, and humanitarian communication. I use trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and participatory methods grounded in active listening, embodiment practices, negotiation, and mediation.

I hold an MA in Peace Studies, Development, Security & International Conflict Transformation from the University of Innsbruck, and bring training in International First Aid, emergency response, civil-military cooperation, operational security, and humanitarian coordination.
