What I'm looking for

I’m looking to build and modernize data platforms in greenfield environments—designing governed SQL/ETL pipelines and Power BI models that turn messy, multi-vendor data into reliable, decision-ready analytics.

I’m a hands-on data engineer and analytics builder with 20+ years designing SQL pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data warehouse architectures, and Power BI reporting solutions from the ground up. I thrive in greenfield environments, wrangling inconsistent, multi-vendor data into governed, reliable models when there’s little existing infrastructure.

As Director of District Data Analytics at Ector County ISD, I recruited to build a district-wide data platform from scratch and architected ETL pipelines integrating 6+ inconsistent, multi-vendor data sources into centralized SQL Server reporting models serving 30,000 students across 49 campuses. I’ve designed and deployed 10+ Power BI semantic models and dashboards for attendance, graduation, CCMR, STAAR, TELPAS, and A–F accountability reporting.

I also built mission-critical logic and automation—implementing TEA-aligned CCMR classification rules (bucket assignments, IBC tier classification, and weighted scoring) and developing a Python/Tkinter “SDR Sorter” that processes 2,000–4,000 assessment files per cycle, cutting processing time from 4–6 hours to under 30 minutes per month. I’ve led end-to-end State Data Reporting and SIRS reconciliation workflows, including TIDE uploads, extractions, crosswalks, and quality checks.

Before that, as Chief Technology & Information Security Officer at Eastern New Mexico University, I directed enterprise infrastructure and information security operations while building business-facing Power BI solutions and automation using Power Automate/Power Apps. Earlier, I designed ETL packages and SSRS reporting at UT Permian Basin and supported ERP, SQL-based reporting, and ASP.NET applications in my prior roles—always focused on data integrity, governance, and practical outcomes.
