I spearheaded the migration of 15+ downstream service integrations from legacy systems to a modern REST-based architecture using Spring WebClient and REST APIs. By designing robust WebClient consumers with custom headers, comprehensive error handling, retry logic with exponential backoff, and optimized timeouts, I improved reliability and reduced failed requests by ~40%, while also accelerating partner onboarding through well-defined API contracts and automated integration testing.
