At CSIR, I develop and maintain web mapping applications for ocean and coastal resource data as part of the national OCIMS project, led by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment. My work includes applications for vessel tracking, fisheries and aquaculture, and water quality.
I developed a 3D ocean digital twin in Unity, overlaying environmental datasets onto an ocean model and integrating near-real-time AIS data to visualize vessel positions. I also develop frontend components for MzansiXchange, including a dashboard for transaction summaries, statuses, errors, history, and participating members.
At Transnet Property, I assisted with maintaining and developing a web mapping application and developed a system to detect errors in spatial and non-spatial data. I also wrote Python scripts using Arcpy to automate the integration of captured spatial data.
