Ayanda Kau (Mkhwanazi)

I’m a GIS Specialist focused on integrating CAD and GIS data to deliver accurate visual impact assessments that support project planning and regulatory compliance. I use spatial data analysis, geospatial data management, and clear data visualization to turn complex inputs into actionable insights.

In my current role at SLR Consulting (Jan 2024 — Present), I process CAD data to generate reliable visual impact analyses and develop GIS-based models that improve clarity for stakeholders. I’ve also integrated GIS data with CAD models to strengthen planning decisions and compliance with environmental and planning regulations.

Previously, as a Geospatial Scientist (Jan 2021 — Dec 2023) and in junior and technician roles, I supported GIS work across consultancy settings and helped streamline workflows by integrating datasets. I also optimized data management protocols to maintain high-quality geospatial information and reduce errors for consistent reporting.

My foundation includes a BSc Honours Geography and a BSc in Geology and Geography from the University of the Witwatersrand. I stay grounded in professional standards through SACNASP, IAIASA, and GISSA, and I’m driven by continuous workflow improvement and stakeholder-ready outputs.
