What I'm looking for

I’m looking to apply computational rigour to generate mechanistic insights that directly inform translational and clinically relevant research decisions, partnering across teams to deliver reproducible, end-to-end multi-omics workflows.

I’m a Computational Biologist and PhD in Systems Biology with 10+ years applying quantitative and statistical approaches to complex biological systems, from cancer genomics to neuroepigenetics. I’m known for delivering reproducible end-to-end analytical workflows across international cross-functional teams.

My core expertise spans genomics and single-cell technologies (bulk and single-cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, plus ChIP-seq), multi-omics integration, regulatory network inference, and time-series modeling with applied ML. I’ve designed large-scale single-cell multi-omics studies with preprocessing/QC, differential analyses, and time-course modeling to uncover regulatory mechanisms of cellular memory in addiction-relevant neuronal systems.

In my current role as Senior Research Scientist | Computational Systems Biology, I lead first-author multi-omics work from project design through manuscript submission, integrating experimental execution, large-scale data processing, computational analysis, and scientific interpretation. I also initiate and coordinate collaborative projects derived from my doctoral work, including experimental validation of key epigenetic findings, and mentor junior researchers.

Across my research, I’ve generated and analyzed large genomic datasets that contributed to multiple publications, including a co-first-author Nature (2021) contribution. I enjoy translating mechanistic insight into translational decisions, and I bring strong scientific writing, peer review, and conference presentation experience to every collaboration.

BM
Current

Senior Research Scientist

Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology (MDC-BIMSB)

Oct 2025 - Present (8 months)

Led end-to-end delivery of a first-author multi-omics study through manuscript submission, integrating project design, large-scale data processing, computational analysis, and scientific interpretation. Initiated two collaboration projects from doctoral work, coordinated delivery across four international teams, mentored junior researchers, and served as a peer reviewer for five journals.

BM

Ph.D. Researcher

Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology (MDC-BIMSB)

Jan 2019 - Oct 2025 (6 years 9 months)

Designed and executed a large-scale single-cell multi-omics study (18 samples, 150,000+ cells, 6 time points), performing preprocessing/QC, differential analyses, and time-course modeling to uncover regulatory mechanisms of cellular memory in addiction-relevant neuronal systems. Generated 10+ multi-omics datasets and co-led a project culminating in a co-first-author Nature publication (2021) with

NN

Junior Scientist

New York University Medical School (NYUMS)

Feb 2017 - Aug 2018 (1 year 6 months)

Generated and analyzed 20+ ChIP-, RNA-, and ATAC-seq datasets from primary patient blood samples and cell lines to characterize MED12 mutations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Analyzed 10+ ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq datasets and contributed to securing a 2.5M USD NIH R01 grant (NCI CA228135) by building the analytical case and scientific figures in a competitive federal peer-review process.
