I'm looking for a permanent role that values innovation and collaboration, with opportunities for growth and learning.

I'm a freelance developer with a diverse background in web and mobile development. After many years of contracting full-time with a small consultancy, I'm keen to transition to permanent employment.

My versatility and tenacity enable me to tackle complex problems while continuously learning new technologies. I pride myself on my self-reliance and strong soft skills, including client communications, documentation, pitches, and project management.

My expertise lies in front-end web development, utilizing CSS, Tailwind, SASS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React. I have transitioned from PHP/MySQL to Python/Django/Postgres for back-end duties, with a recent focus on cross-platform mobile development using React Native. My typical stack includes Zustand for state management, Firebase for analytics, and Fastlane or EAS for deployment. I also integrate Google Docs API and Google Cloud Platform for back-end utilities and am currently teaching myself Next.js.

My most significant work has been with the NHS, where I was the sole developer for their interactive web tools from 2008 to 2023. I successfully delivered numerous projects, including the NHS BMI calculator and the Heart Age tool, which served millions of users and passed clinical reviews. Since leaving the NHS, I have continued to work on impactful projects, including React Native apps for NHS Safeguarding England and various research projects for universities.
