Data Engineer with 4+ years building production data pipelines and backend services for global payment platforms. My recent focus at Samsung Electronics centered on AWS Glue, Apache Spark, and Spark SQL, with daily ETL workloads serving analytics teams and BI reporting on Samsung Pay's card transaction activity.

On the data side, I proposed and led a migration of an analytics ETL workload to two serverless AWS Glue PySpark pipelines, retiring a legacy Java cron-based service. The ingest pipeline converts hundreds of thousands of JSONlines event files (5+ GB/day) from S3 into partitioned Parquet, cutting downstream storage and transfer footprint by 80%+. The transformation pipeline runs Spark SQL on that Parquet output, populating a star-schema data mart in AWS RDS MySQL feeding Tableau dashboards. I owned both Glue pipelines end-to-end: dimensional modeling, JSON schema drift, dedup/null/type checks, and staging validation against Elasticsearch logs before production cutover.

Across the stack into backend, I was sole maintainer of a Couchbase-backed data service distributing card transaction data to 10+ Samsung Pay microservices, where I led a zero-downtime SDK migration retiring a deprecated client. Alongside that, I developed and maintained 10+ Java/Spring Boot REST microservices integrating Samsung Pay's global payment platform with Visa, Mastercard, and Amex, sustaining millions of transactions per minute.
