What I'm looking for

Ideally I’d like a remote job somewhere in the field of machine learning, since I hope to make use of this in the thesis I decide on for my PhD. I’d also be happy to further develop my programming skills (frontend or backend).

A detail-oriented researcher and engineer with a strong foundation in data analysis, machine learning, and structured data annotation stemming from past academic and work experiences. With a BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering and ongoing PhD studies in Chemical Engineering (hoping to integrate machine learning), I have hands-on experience in processing and labeling large datasets (e.g., 105,000+ EMG data points for gesture classification) and designing systematic protocols for data organization. My work at the National Research Council as a Research Assistant involved creating custom labeling systems for material samples, while my role at BTNX included formatting sensitive data in JSON for secure storage and working in C # using Xamarin Forms and Razor Pages. I have also authored technical documentation (SOPs, reports - from positions at the National Research Council and Intlvac Incorporated as a Junior Product Development Technician) and validated model accuracy using tools like confusion matrices and cross-validation, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail (as part of a machine learning project during my undergrad). I am proficient in Python, MATLAB, and basic JavaScript, and have demonstrated remote collaboration skills during roles at Microsoft and BTNX. Lastly, I'd also like to mention that I have taken Spanish and am experienced with it at the high school level, and I'm currently at the HSK 2 level in Mandarin (with the HSK 3 level in progress).
