For almost 15 years, I have worked in consumer publications as a writer and editor for entertainment (Black Teen, Word Up! and Rap Masters magazines), lifestyle (Today's Black Woman and Black Men magazines, and health (Real Health magazine). I attended Hunter College in New York City and received my master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master's degree in health and science writing from Columbia University's School of Journalism. During that time, I was also published in Rolling Stone and Vibe magazines and worked as a freelance editor for Jamrock magazine. Currently, I am an associate editor at NYU Langone Health.
