What I'm looking for

I seek a role that allows me to further support individuals in grief while fostering educational opportunities in counseling.

As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Clinical Thanatologist, I am dedicated to providing compassionate support to individuals navigating the complexities of grief, chronic illness, and emotional transitions. My journey in counseling began with a strong academic foundation, culminating in a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Ohio University. I have honed my skills through diverse roles, including co-owning Refuge Counseling, where I offer grief support and clinical supervision to fellow counselors.

My experience extends to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Ashland Theological Seminary, where I teach courses on grief and crisis counseling. I am passionate about educating others on the nuances of grief, particularly disenfranchised grief and ambiguous loss. My previous role as a Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice of North Central Ohio allowed me to develop and facilitate support groups, enhancing community involvement and providing essential resources for bereaved families.

Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my contributions to the field, including awards for my teaching and leadership within the counseling community. I am committed to trauma-informed care and continuously seek to improve my skills in expressive arts therapy and mindfulness techniques, ensuring that my approach is holistic and empathetic.
