Joseph Monjok
@josephmonjok
I transition from civil engineering to data analytics, delivering pipeline-to-reporting insights with Python and SQL.
What I'm looking for
I’m an emerging data analyst and data scientist with an engineer’s precision, built through independent end-to-end projects and an AI research fellowship. I focus on turning messy, real-world data into clear, stakeholder-ready findings.
In my projects, I’ve taken raw datasets through cleaning, validation, modeling, and reporting. I collected, cleaned, and modeled 621,581 records from the 2023 US National Bridge Inventory to build a risk prioritization tool and produced ranked “at risk” bridge outputs with maintenance recommendations.
I also build predictive and analytical systems, from churn and retention modeling on a gamified learning platform to KPI-driven exploratory analysis for airline quality data. Along the way, I use feature engineering, evaluation, and optimization to connect model results to decisions, not just accuracy.
Right now, I’m working as an AI Research Fellow with TRI AI (AI Saturdays Lagos curriculum), contributing to deep learning fundamentals, small language model work, and improving data pipelines. I bring a fast, self-directed learning curve, strong SQL/Python fundamentals, and a practical mindset for data engineering and machine learning roles.
